Where Faith and Art Intersect

The congregation of Hendricks Avenue Baptist Church believes that the visual arts contribute to the worship of God by stimulating our spiritual development as we recognize God’s ongoing acts of creativity and are touched in new ways by Divine Mystery.

Seeking to be good stewards of our resources, this congregation chose to maximize our new 2009 sanctuary by designing dedicated gallery space in the narthex for both rotating exhibitions and a permanent collection. Art as a ministry invigorates us with new friendships and expansive vision.

While we connect with the global community through a shared visual language, we also engage with diverse local audiences as an active exhibition venue in Jacksonville. We answer the call to embrace our community in the welcoming spirit of Christ as we share our story as a people of faith in image and deed. Please visit our gallery and join us for special programs throughout the year.

The Transitional Gallery is open during all worship services, exhibit openings and programs, and upon request by calling the church office at (904) 396-7745, ext. 333.
