Connecting with One Another Through Story and Song

by Britt Hester, minister of youth and christian education

“Day by day, as they spent much time together in the temple, they broke bread at home and ate their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having the goodwill of all the people.” Acts 2:46-47a

Since the beginning of this school year, our students, under Tommy and Laraine’s leadership, have sought intentional ways to share what we do on Sunday nights with our church family. Specifically, we have searched for ways to join members in their homes to share songs, tell stories, and pray for one another. Last month we had the privilege of spending time with Ann Carter in her home. This month we spent time with Bill & Dottie McLear. Each visit brought a unique experience, but each visit left us feeling more connected and uplifted because our time spent together.

Scripture consistently reminds us of the value of spending time with one another, when we inspire and encourage one another through song and prayer. These visits have been a blessing for our students and adults as we continue to share in this ministry together.  For more about how you can join us in our effort to share experiences with our church family, contact me via email or give us a call at 904-396-7745. We would love to chat with you!
