What are worship services like?

We have two distinct styles of worship at HAB. At 8:45 a.m., aided by modern media and contemporary instrumentation, “The Gathering” lifts up the name of Christ through worship, confession, and praise…in a casual but reverent setting. Many people are comfortable wearing casual slacks, a dress shirt, and an occasional sport coat (or another type of dressy-casual outfit). Many others, however, feel equally comfortable in jeans and sneakers.

At 11:00 a.m., the sanctuary is filled with a sense of reverence and holiness as we meet for for our Eleven O’clock worship service. Accompanied by piano, a 60-rank pipe organ, and the sanctuary choir, the congregation lifts up the name of Christ through timeless hymns of faith, renewed liturgical practices, as well as through silence, prayers, and innovative responsive readings.

Both “The Gathering” at 8:45 a.m. and the Eleven O’clock worship are centered on the Word of God, the reality of Christ, and the experience of the Holy Spirit in our midst. And just as there are many styles of worship and spirituality, HAB values everyone’s faith expression in a spirit of hospitality and truth.

Can I meet the pastor?
