FAQs from Our Guests
What are worship services like?
We have two distinct styles of worship each Sunday morning at HAB. At 8:45 a.m., aided by modern media and piano, guitar, bass, and drums, “The Gathering” lifts up the name of Christ through fellowship, confession, and praise… in a casual but reverent setting. Many people are comfortable wearing casual slacks, a dress shirt, and an occasional sport coat (or another type of dressy-casual outfit). Many others, however, feel equally comfortable in jeans and sneakers.
At 11:00 a.m., the sanctuary is filled with a sense of reverence and holiness as we meet for our Eleven O’clock worship service. Accompanied by piano, a 60-rank pipe organ, handbells, and the sanctuary choir, the congregation lifts up the name of Christ through old and new hymns of faith, as well as through silence, prayers, and responsive readings. The service sometimes includes a variety of other instruments, such as those found in an orchestra, as well as from around the world.
Both “The Gathering” and the Eleven O’clock worship are centered on the Word of God, the reality of Christ, and the experience of the Holy Spirit in our midst. Just as there are many styles of worship and spirituality, HAB values everyone’s faith expression in a spirit of fellowship and truth.
Please note: On occasion, HAB has a combined worship service that begins at 10:30 a.m. On these Sundays, Sunday Bible Study begins at 9:15 a.m. Click this link to check our Calendar to determine when HAB will hold its next combined service.
