Kyle Reese
Dr. Kyle Reese became our senior pastor on May 1, 2006. Having obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in religious education from Wayland Baptist University in 1993, he enrolled in the inaugural class at the George W. Truett Theological Seminary at Baylor University, where he earned his Master of Divinity degree in 1997. He received his Doctor of Ministry degree from Northern Baptist Theological Seminary in Chicago in 2003. Kyle is a past president of the George W. Truett Theological Seminary Alumni Association and brings with him a history of civic involvement and community leadership. He is currently a member of Leadership Jacksonville - class of 2008 and is actively involved with the Hendricks Avenue Community Athletic Association (HACAA), volunteering in both the baseball and basketball programs.

Brett R. Foster

Brett has served at HAB since 1998, and is currently the Minister of Spiritual Formation and Mission.  He has a passion for helping others grow in their faith and sharing God's love through friendship and service.  With degrees in both education and theology, Brett has served as a teacher and a youth pastor for nearly twenty years.  He is also an accomplished musician and serves as the worship leader in the HAB contemporary service, The Gathering.  In 2007, Brett earned the Doctor of Ministry degree from the Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington D.C., in spirituality and community.  Brett also enjoys teaching guitar classes and coaching little league baseball.

Bailey Nelson
Bailey became our Minister in Residence in June 2008, as part of a two year Pastoral Residency Program sponsored by the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship.  She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Religion and Music from Furman University in 2005 and a Masters of Divinity from Mercer University's McAfee School of Theology in 2008.  Bailey is the recipient of the 2008 John R. Claypool Memorial Award for Excellence in Preaching, the 2008 Addie Davis Award for Excellence in Preaching by Baptist Women in Ministry, and the 2008 James T. McAfee Jr. Endowed Vision and Leadership Award.  With a passion for preaching, writing, and pastoral care, her desire is to one day serve as senior pastor of a local congregation.  Bailey is also a classically trained violinist and vocalist, with a love for the performing arts.

Michael Page
Michael became our Interim Youth Minister in March 2008.  He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in economics and political science from Jacksonville State University in Alabama in 1997.  He spent six years in the Marine Corps during which time he earned a Master of Arts degree in public administration from Webster University.  Michael is currently finishing a Master of Theological Studies in Christian leadership from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in Charlotte, NC and is scheduled to graduate in May, 2008.  More interesting stuff about Michael on the Youth Page. Faith McCall
has served as Interim Director of Children's Ministries since September 2007.  She received her Bachelor's degree in accounting from Jacksonville University in 1988.  Since leaving the accounting field, she has served in many different positions in the children's ministry.  Faith has been a children's worship leader, a children's choir teacher and a preschool Sunday School teacher.  She also has experience as a Christian preschool teacher.  She and her husband Charles have two children, Cameron and Ryan.

Wayne Bailey
Wayne Bailey serves as Director of Choral Studies and Professor of Vocal Music at Florida Community College at Jacksonville. He is state president of the Florida Chapter of the American Choral Directors' Association. His teaching and directing experience encompasses high school, community college, university, and churches. He has performed with Zubin Mehta and the New York Philharmonic, has been a guest soloist with the London Symphony Orchestra, and has performed with several of the different groups of the Robert Shaw Chorale and the Atlanta Symphony Chorus. Wayne holds a B.M.A. degree in Music Education from Jacksonville University and a Master's of Church Music from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

H. Kendell Smith
Mr. Smith, a native of South Carolina attended Clemson University and received his bachelor of sacred music from William Carey College in Hettisburg, Mississippi. He also received a diploma in sacred music from the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in New Orleans, Louisiana. Mr. smith served churches in Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, S.C and Florida. He came to HAB from the First Baptist Church in Huntsville, Alabama in 1983. He retired in 1998 as minister of music emeritus. Since then he has been assisting in the pastoral care ministry of Hendricks Avenue Baptist Church.
